Displaced New Englander living in the swamps of Florida and not really loving it. I miss the hills, trees, seasons... I even miss rocks. There's not many rocks in Florida!
Oh yeah... my hair's longer than yours! Neener!
Well, that's no longer true as anyone who's seen the pictures knows. I took a really bad fall about three years ago and did some serious damage to my spine. I couldn't even brush or put my hair in a ponytail myself. After nearly two months in the rehabilitation hospital I just had to have it and my beard cut short. The ponytail went to Locks of Love.
I wore a Mohawk for a few months then decided if I couldn't fly my freak flag long I'd go the other direction and now once a month I get my head shaved, straight razor and all. I'm also off the cane and stuck on a walker. Getting out and taking pictures it's very hard, I also had to give up my twice weekly trips to the gym to exercise in the pool as I can't make it up the steps and the wet floors are so very dangerous 3/4 of the time if I take a fall I have to have Fire/Rescue out to get me up.
I've made myself a promise that this fall whenever it begins to cool down I will get out, watch and photograph some sunrises and wildlife. I WILL. I swear it. My X-E2 is begging to be taken out of the camera bag.
In addition to my site, linked below (visit, visit, visit!) I also maintain a blog at:
Both site and blog need updating. The blog has had a couple entries but my site is missing 90% of the pictures I've taken and shared. But the damage to my spine I have little to no tactile sensation in in either hand to the elbow and both feet. . . except for the neuropathic pain. That and the damage to my spine never stop hurting.
I want to be a photographer again. I WILL be a photographer again.
