Film is my first love. Some of my fondest memories are of watching my grandpa develop and print in his darkroom. I received a point-and-shoot from my parents back in 2007. I grew increasingly frustrated when I was not able to produce the images with it that I saw in my mind’s eye. When the little Sony was stolen at a house party (thanks college!), I decided to replace the point-and-shoot attitude as well as the camera. I read… a lot. I got involved in the Flickr community to be able to learn directly from those whose work I admired. I bought a medium format film camera (and eventually a DSLR) and have spent a few years learning the hard way.
