I'm a licensed artist, published author, perpetual nomad and overall life enthusiast!

 

I create colorful art in a variety of styles, ranging from abstraction to photorealism (with a special focus on creating vibrant, detailed sugar skull art). My artwork hangs in private collections around the world, and can also be purchased on t-shirts, smartphone cases, coloring books and more. You can see my art at my website, www.thaneeya.com.

 

I'm the author of two art instruction books published by IMPACT and Adams Media, both imprints of F+W Media. My first book, Draw Groovy, features 64 pages of fun, easy step-by-step lessons demonstrating how to draw whimsical, coloring images like owls, mandalas, cats, toadstools, abstracts and more! My second book, The Everything Girls Ultimate Body Art Book, features 128 pages of step-by-step drawing lessons that can be drawn as cool temporary tattoo designs using body art markers and washable makeup, including sugar skulls, mandalas, flowers, henna designs and more.

 

I license my art to several companies including Andrews McMeel (where my Sugar Skulls Wall Calendar is one of their bestsellers), Buckle Down, Silver Buffalo and more. In 2009, I launched a popular art instruction site, www.Art-is-Fun.com, where I share my love of art with fun lessons and detailed information on drawing, painting and mixed media. My site has received over 17 million pageviews and counting!

 

I'm also the founder of The Art Colony (community.art-is-fun.com), an online community for artists of all skill levels.

 

In addition to art, I'm a full-time traveler who loves to take photographs (check out my Instagram to see some of the places I've been). I love to read and learn new things, and also share knowledge and ideas with others!
