📷 My first SLR camera was Russian Zenit, given to me by my father when I was 15 years old. Those days of film photography I developed the films and print photos all by myself, what a joy:) My school friends still have many of my b/w photos in their albums.

Now, in Flickr, I feel like I share photos with entire World.

I came to the digital photography in 2007, with Sony camera, and since that I am in Flickr, all time favourite site, still Sony user. We have came through many transformations of Flickr – for good and some for bad (particular in 2015), but I am still here and I do not waste my time in Instagram or Facebook.

I left my motherland – Russian Sakhalin island – in 2001, and since Australia is my home. From the first days I was fascinated by Australian nature, and my interest in botany was grown. All my plant’s photos are botanically identified and it makes a big different to a “pretty flowers” shots. I do try to make a beautiful floral photos, but field marks are priorities in most cases, so sorry for some boring images ;)

🌸🌳🌸 Flowering trees became my favourite subject from an early days in Flickr.

Since 2008 I am a solo admin of FIELD GUIDE : FLOWERING TREES of the WORLD group,

where I have built an unique online Database of flowering trees of the world.🌸

🌎🌏Travel photos🌎🌏

I do like hike and travel, and Flickr is a kind of diary - an excellent way to store and share our travel photos. These pictures are my memories of all beautiful places I was lucky to visit. My uploads could be erratic though, as I often look through my archives, could reprocess some old images for a new uploads.

Most of my photos are generously available for downloads and commercial use (follow CC), and can be found in many web-pages, Wikipedia, books, magazines, etc.

I really appreciate if you tell me where you use my photo and simply favourite it before you download it. Thank you.

☆ * ★ ° ☆ Flickr social:

1. I had to remove my real name because I do not like how it is confusingly shown now in Flickr, since 2015

2. I keep number of following under 99, because I actually do follow, and it takes time (Reminder: there's a life outside Flickr too :). Over the years I made a few wonderful friends here, for me Flickr would be an empty space without them.

3. I do not understand followers who never fav or comment my photos. If you are chasing more followers or views, it does not work with me!

4. I like visiting your photostream and leave comments, as it is always inspiration and discovery for me (but I avoid commenting if there are already “millions” comments).

5. I think blocking is a nasty act. I do not block you just because I do not like your attitude, but I block you if you block me, be sure. I block porno and scam members, matter of course.
