"After that I quit looking off into the distance; it was hot and the wildflowers were closing up their deep-yellow petals. Only the waxy cactus flowers bloomed in the bright sun, and I saw every color that a cactus blossom can be; the white ones and the red ones were still buds, but the yellow and the purple were blossoms, open full and the most beautiful of all."

JUNE 2013 UPDATE:

 

After 32 years spent together and 27 years of lawful marriage Michael lied and cheated one time too many. Joyce and Michael are divorcing and Michael no longer has anything to do with this sight. Look for more photos of Joyce's artwork in the future and she will also be adding more plant ID photos as soon as she has time.
