I"To me, the excitement of photography is searching for and creating new images, responding to the world and seeing subtleties often missed by the casual observer. I try to see everything as if for the first time." - Earl Olsen

Flickr Contacts:

On November 7, 2012 I posted a photo of a flower arrangement that was given to my wife during her stay in Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. I posted it to let all my great contacts and Flickr friends know that my wife was sick and I was going to be off for a while. At that time I truly thought I had some of the best contacts any one could have. Now two weeks later I have reached a different conclusion. I have/had 74 contacts and only received 8 comments on that photo. I know that this is a busy time of year, but if you are posting images and can’t take the time to comment, I don’t need a contact like that. I guess you guys have too many contacts that you can’t keep up with what is important (Friends). I will keep most contacts until the first of the year or when I get a response on that image. I was just asking for a little support.

To the friends that sent best wishes I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m still going to be off/on for a long time. I’m going to have to take more time to take care my wife. We are going down a road of unknown.

She was diagnosed with liver bile duct cancer and the only option is chemo. This will surly shorten her life and because of this I will be off and on Flickr

To the ones who think photography and nothing else, you are losing so much. To me Flickr is more than posting an image; it’s where you can inter act with people who have the same interest/hobby as you do. When I get done cleaning house, I’ll still have some of the best contacts/friends that anyone would want.

Have the best holidays that you can, for time does not stop for no one…..

Thanks my friends

Greetings: My Journey started in Western New York (Arcade), then to Central California (Salinas), then to the Central Valley (Citrus Heights). My last stop The Piney Woods Of East Texas (Nacogdoches). This is where my journey is going stop. For the last 25 years I was unable to do anything with the hobby I so enjoy, photography. Now that I'm retired I should be able to spend more time to improve my amateur photography. I have had no formal training just lot of reading, the internet and trial and error. Flickr has been a very good learning tool. I have meet some very cool people on Flickr. I'm up grading my camera to a Sony A 700, 04.23.09.New up-grade Sony SLT a77v., very nice, 12.25.2012. To all my contacts a big old THANKS. Have a great day. "enjoy your journey through life and take the time to enjoy everything it has to offer "

There is some things I would like to say to my contacts or any one else who visits my profile. I'm very busy so when I leave a comment sometimes it could be one word or a short phrase. There is more to life than just photography.I don't live in a city on a small lot.I have a large place that I do all yard work myself and like doing it.I plant a garden and put food up for the winter. If I leave a comment that means I truly like your image. I have a lot of contacts and I like to say something on your photo's that I like. I will only comment on the ones that I like, that doesn't mean that your other images are not good but I personally don't like what the image is trying to say. If I don't receive the same back I will stop commenting on your photo's and might drop you as a contact. I'm going to drop some groups also. I love Flickr but life is to short to play cliquish games. The month of May 2010 I gave over 1200 comments and/ or faves and received only 291 in return. If my photos are good enough to view and not to comment "PLEASE TELL ME WHY". This is getting to be to much of a job & not fun, like it should be.

I truly appreciate Y'all that take the time to comment and fave my photos

THANK YOU MY FLICKR FRIENDS

MY IMAGES ARE COPYRIGHTED. PLEASE ASK BEFORE YOU USE THEM. IF I DO GRANT YOU THE USE OF THEM THEY HAVE TO BE LINK BACK TO FLICKR!!!!!!

On my map the Geo tagged photo's are not in the true location. Most of my photo's are taken near my home. A while back one of my contacts went off on me because I commented on one of his images of a dog fight. Well I felt threatened so I blocked him and moved all my photos to different locations. I might be paranoid but, they do walk among us. What I like about Texas we are armed. Be careful of your contacts. He was a contact for over a year, a great photographer and very nice. For him to say that I was at fault for what my government does or what the military does, is three cards short of a full deck. We don't cut a persons head off or burn body's & hang them off a bridge. It is well known that there is more Muslims killed by there own than by any one else. There is entirely to much hate in this world..
