I make images.

I am always a beginner. This photostream shows you where I started, and how far I have to go. I have been posting here since day 1 of trying to make images.

I am not a photographic purist: I love my cameras, and I love fiddling around in photoshop, both are equally important.

I am slightly obsessed with the colour blue.

I like tea and a smoke when I get in from work.

I am often absent.

I am in a state of flux.

I first came across Steve’s pictures when, typically, he was sharing a processing technique and looking for feedback and suggestions. I think I offered a few basic photoshop hints. He took them, tried them, improved them – moved on. Over time I saw his pictures continue to develop with his increasing skill as he made new contacts, learned, shared and evolved techniques. Soon it was me asking for the tips, and as ever Steve was generous in sharing them. Steve is now producing pictures of breathtaking beauty in their conception, composition and production. He has the gift of seeing a final image beyond what is in front of his eyes, capturing it and then fully realising it on the screen. What’s more his photographs are real originals – assimilating and improving on others’ work to make it his own. What’s even more amazing is that first comment I made was only five months ago. Either he can stop time (I watch Heros, so I know what’s possible) or else he’s been born with photoshop in his DNA. And not only that, but he’s achieving all this based in the frankly unpromising photographic landscape of Coventry (and I say that as a native Midlander myself). So if you’re reading this looking for a recommendation look no further – climb on now and enjoy this photostream because if you’re anything like me, you can’t wait to see where it’s going!
