“I would be the guy that takes the pictures that no one else would take”
Born and raised in the U.S.A. I have had a loaded camera in my hands for over 35 years. 1978 would be my first trek through the City of New York, camera in hand~ still my favorite place to shoot raw street photography.
As a lover of the post modern era, my vision of photography is for each of my photographs to become a highly refined piece of post modern art~ one that not only is archivally stable but emotionally provoking the senses of the viewer.
Over the years I have participated in art shows, solo gallery shows and currently have work hanging in art galleries, coffee shops, and in collections from coast to coast~ maybe even in your home.
Along with the art of photography comes the craft of photography and in this twenty first century that craft is swiftly becoming digital, but not here. I am still pleased to be a film photographer and have no plans for hiatus from film.
I personally develop my film, print, mount and frame each photograph. All of my b&w art prints are silver gelatin prints, made on fiber-base paper, selenium toned to archivally prepare them and then mounted on 100% rag mat board to museum quality. This is a preparation that is noted to be prominent for art photography. Photos prepared like this are known to last for 200 years so generation after generation can enjoy them.
Tip: Use the stunning Firefox PlugIn Cooliris (PicLens) www.cooliris.com/ to view all my photos in a pretty exceptional way. A 'must have' PlugIn for Flickr! Trust me. :)
