I'm 26 and I really only just starting to pursue my interest in photography. Creatively, music has always been my outlet (I'm a guitarist/singer/songwriter and used to play in a band)

I've wanted to travel for as long as I could remember, but girlfriends and music have always got in the way. I spent 6 weeks in Baltimore recording an album with my last band and travelled around the US a little and when we got back and things didn't work out I decided the lack of current commitments was the perfect opportunity to start travelling.

I considered the burden of travelling everywhere with a guitar and wanted to find something creative that I could use as an outlet and photography seemed perfect. I figure whenever I'm staying somewhere long term, I could buy a guitar and sell it when I have to leave, and photography would be my constant creative outlet.

Since then, I've spent most of my spare time researching gear and techniques and admiring all the amazing photos here on flickr. It's inspired me in a completely different way than music did, and I love it for it's own reasons.

I plan to leave in March 2012 (just after my best friends wedding and my 27th birthday) and between now and then I'm just saving, planning and picking up as many photography projects as I can so I'm competent at my craft by the time I leave.
