Once discovered, Tru's photostream quickly became one of my favorites on Flickr. She takes simple objects we all take for granted in daily life and breathes a soft, but vivacious life into them that typifies the definition of art. I don't look at every photo and think of it as art, but Tru definitely blurs that line between technical photographic documentation of reality and an artistic interpretation of reality. You can tell each photo is hand-crafted with a lot of delicate care, and can really see things through her eyes while browsing her stream--it's always an enjoyable experience. I've also had the pleasure to work side-by-side with Tru on a wedding we shot collaboratively. Being a first wedding for us both, I had total confidence in the results of her work, and having her as a counterpart help settle my first-time jitters. Now after the experience of working together, I can say she's a true professional, in addition to an artist. So....Thank you, Tru! With your talent and hard work, I know you'll be successful in whatever area of photography you choose.

Well here it is, better late than never ;-) Trudy's work is poetic, each click of her shutter are like beautiful thought out verses. Her captures are imaginative, harmonious, elegant, soft and creative. In her images, Trudy has such a unique way of describing her life and her daily explorations. Tru is one of the few photographers (artists of any kind, really) who has made me truly see the world anew. I don't think I ever looked closely at wild grass until I came upon her photostream -- and I know I had never before grasped the beauty and magic of wild grass. Her photostream is to photography what Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass" is to poetry. In her photos, you can feel the wind, the sun and the magical delicacy of grass -- and everything else she photographs. Her gifts of composition really shine when it comes to her diptychs, which I think are the very best on Flickr. What's more, she is an amazingly generous friend -- whose smart, insightful comments made me feel welcome when I first started Flickr (she was among my very first contacts) and whose comments continue to make me proud to call her my friend.
