After an early retirement, I founded a group in the Alpine Club for people in the second half of life who like to be out in nature. Over the years, we became over 120 active people. At the same time, I combined this with my ever-growing passion for photography,
Digital photography in particular has contributed to this. The more you photograph, the better you can become. Our group travelled mainly in Franconia, Bavaria, all of Germany, but also in Europe and outside in America, Asia and Africa, mostly on foot, by bike or by boat. A year ago I handed over this group to a successor and planned to go on more extensive tours and to take photographs. For me, photography is the situation of the moment. Therefore, my photos are not always technically perfect, but they live from the situation. That's why I work with relatively simple equipment. Also important for me is a large field of view with up to 50x optical resolution in which you can see or connect things that someone else overlooks. For me, photography is like 6th sense. It's like a scanner that perceives the environment from the viewfinder/display. My motifs are varied and should also say something. People, animals, nature and shapes - almost everything. I like to experiment and always try out new ways of looking at things.
Since Corona restricts the activities quite a bit, I have worked through my entire photo archive and compiled my highlights and uploaded them to Flickr. You can see what I've been up to - many of the pictures were taken there - on my homepage querbeet-freizeit.de . Of course I hope to find new inspiration, new motifs, ideas and images. I can hardly imagine a life without photography. I often see the world in motifs.
I live in Dechsendorf, a suburb of Erlangen in Franconia/Bavaria. There is a wonderful natural area here with many lakes and ponds. Of course, this is also an ideal area for photography.
For more than 15 years I have also been giving travel lectures/picture shows from larger trips. Unfortunately, such lectures are not possible at the moment.
I have to add one thing. I am a passionate cat lover. So there are always cats with character in between.
Have fun and enjoy looking at what I see.
My Flickr name is treebreug - read backwards querbeet the name of my group QUERBEET - but it also describes me - querbeet. In German it means going cross and be open for other ways and ways.
My main cameras are currently a Sony RX100 VI and a Canan PowershotSX60HS.
