TEDxColombo was formed by a group of young individuals to help spread awareness and allow our leaders and thinkers to have a stage to make a difference and speak out their ideas. This group comes from varying backgrounds and varying age groups with the same goal in mind. We are here to show our people that we can only move forward at this time in our lives. The TEDx format fulfils this aim by being a globally recognized platform that allows local ideas to flourish.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxColombo, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxColombo event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
