I started taking photos with a friend's Nikon D90 with an 18-55mm kit lens in 2009. I was capturing various aspects of my surroundings, mostly structural and industrial things within the city. I tried out some event photography, but didn't really develop until 2011 when I bought my own DSLR, a Nikon D5000 with an 18-55mm kit lens. Shortly thereafter, I added a 55-300mm Nikkor. During this time, several of my photos were on display from October 2011-January 2012 as part of the Final Friday displays at the Kansas Masonic Home. This exposure allowed my to make my very first sales! Also during this time, several of my photos were selected as part of the art work on display at the 21st and Meridian DMV.

As my tastes and skills developed, I made the switch from Nikon to Canon (gasp!) in mid-2012 and I currently shoot a Canon 50D with a Canon EF 28-135mm and a Canon EF 50mm F1.8.

Recently, one of my lightning photos was selected to be part of the KBA Scenes of Kansas calendar and will be published as the photo for September 2013!

My photographic experience has ranged from still life to portrait work. Currently, I'm interested in portrait work and local event photography and am looking to develop those skills in the future. I appreciate any comments/feedback you all have to offer, so speak up! Feel free to add me on facebook if you are so inclined.

Also, I feel like I should add that I'm here to learn more about my art, share ideas, and enjoy others' art. If you feel like putting a link to your photostream sans comment, know that I will delete it.
