First Response T.E.A.M. (Tactical Emergency Asset Management) system provides deployable communications technologies integrating robust voice, video, and data capabilities for agencies requiring communications at incident scenes during disasters. These capabilities have proven to be quickly deployable and easily integrated and interoperable. The T.E.A.M. system already meets the requirements of the National Emergency Communications Plan (NERC) Objective 7, Initiative 7.3 – “Leverage existing and emerging technologies to expand and integrate disaster communications capabilities among emergency response providers.”
The T.E.A.M. system has enabled the state of Alabama to already meet Goal 3 of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security National Emergency Communications Plan, July 2008. Alabama has regionally deployed eight T.E.A.M. systems. This regional deployment enables response-level emergency communications to be deployed to all jurisdictions within the state with three hours in the event of a significant incident.
