Tara's photography is AMAZING (yes, in capitals. It really does justify the capitals). She is AMAZING (look, I can't put her photography in caps and not her. That would just be rude). And she has the most amazing way with her subjects. She connects with them in a way most people could only dream of. The result is beautiful, natural, relaxed and original portraits. I mean, you just have to have a quick browse through her stream to see what I'm talking about. What you won't necessarily get from her stream though is just how really completely and utterly awesome Tara is herself. So let me tell you: she is the shizz (did I use that right, Tara?)! Her work: bursting at the seams with energy, with love, with unadulterated passion for life. It's all warmth and city streets and autumn leaves floating down around beautiful faces. It captures the essence of the person in front of the camera; catches their soul in their smiles, in their eyes, in a single glance back at the lens. When I think of Tara's work, I think of the love I have for NYC, for all its quirks and grime and the way it presses itself in on your heart, leaving a forever imprint. We were brought together by an intense passion for photography, for words, for books, for life - and that was solidified by a bond that I have with very few people. By far I am a better person and photographer for knowing her and consider myself very lucky to have her as a part of my life. Tara, simply put is magical. Her body of work is truly a wonder to behold. Simply glancing through her portraiture, one can see Tara’s innate ability to bring out the best in the people she photographs. She has a tremendous knack for matching subject to a backdrop. Certainly Tara has a creative mind and a tremendous intellect. When she sets her writings to photos, prepare to be in awe. tara's friendship multiplies the good in life !! life is a cycle. a series of events, meetings, and departures. friends discovered, others lost, precious time seems to waste away. and as i approach a time in my own life, of what may be considered complete uncertainty, i realize that my friends are one of my most precious assets. and surely if i were still on the east coast (from where i came) this girl and i may quite possibly be inseparable.
