Hi….

First off, thanks for looking.

After a year or so at this hobby, I figure it is time to update the profile. The timeline:

09/07 Picked up a Point & Shoot camera as a stress relieving hobby - Sold

11/07 Picked up a Pentax K10D. Kept as a backup Body

11/07 First Lens purchase - Tamron AF70-300mm Lens - Sold.

12/07. Added a 2nd lens a SMCPDA Pentax 16-45mm Lens

12/07. Added a Tamron SP AF90mm F/2.8 Di Macro 1:1. Looking back I never did get into Macro shots.

03/08. Added a Pentax 50-135 f/2.8. I still use this lens for 90% of my shooting where it is by far my favorite lens.

03/08 Started shooting with the K10D where nothing was left on Auto

07/08. Added a Pentax FA 50mm f/1.4

11/08 Added a Pentax DA 55-300 f/4-5.8 ED Lens. Bought this to Replace the Tamron 70-300 and honestly no longer satisfied with quality on either lens. I think I got spoiled by the speed of my 50-135 lens.

01/09 Picked up a Pentax K20D

01/09 - Pentaz AF 540GZ Flash. Now how do I use this thing.

Next on the list Pentax SMC DA 60-250 f/4 when it is released

Software - Basically none. The most I will ever do to any photo is a crop and occasionally adjust brightness/contrast. I am not a Photoshop lover where I guess I am more of a purist where if I can't get it right when I shoot the shot I can live with it being wrong rather than manipulating an image or doing the ton of post processing that a lot of people do. I guess I believe a photo should tell a story, show an emotion or provoke an emotion or provide a memory where I don't believe in the most technically correct photos being my best shots.

Most of my subject matter will be wildlife/nature. The majority of these shots will be non-zoo type environments where if I have my way I am in with the animal or shooting in the wild. Also, there will be some scenery, some zoo, some vacation shots, some that I did out of total boredom for the simple reason I am lucky to pick up a camera once a month but when I do it is usually a pretty intensive session (Again, camera = stress relief!) One day, I may even start photographing people but I doubt it. As you can tell by my stream it will be primarily animals, but I think wolves will always be my favorite subject and dominate my stream just because of their personalities.

If you like a photo that you see and want to use it for some purpose please ask and something can usually be worked out. All my photos are copyrighted and my property. In the past year, I have went after and had my images removed from well over 50 sites and will continue to do so when they are stolen. This is the reason I no longer tag my photos, allow them to be blogged, or even appear in search engines. It has really even limited the number of groups I even post photos to anymore because again I view photography as a hobby and don't want it to feel like a business. In my brief year of playing with a camera I have shot with many professionals and seen the stress they are under where I just don't want that and instead I want to keep photography as something I enjoy and as a hobby.

With that said, a few of my images are for Sale on my own site. The main purpose of my putting up this site was because of the number of inquiries I was always getting about use of my images for a "Photo Credit"or some other reason or "deal" people would come up with. Again, I don't really view it as a business so right now everything is priced nominally.

Tberling is an awesome animal photographer. On his photostream, I've seen many of the nicest wolf pictures ever. He photographs the animals with such an intense endeavor. It's really nice that he's sharing them here, because I enjoy them a lot.

Tberlings animal photos are some of the best that I've come across on Flickr...and I've browsed quite a bit. If he considers himself an amateur, I'm going to have to go back and buy a point and shoot because I could only dream of capturing the detail and moods of the animals the way he does. If he considers himself an amateur, I'm going to have to go back and buy a point and shoot because I could only dream of capturing the detail and moods of the animals the way he does. Take a few minutes to browse through the pics. Trust me, it'll be well worth your time! Great work!

I came across Tony's photostream purely by accident when I spotted one of his images of wolves. I came across Tony's photostream purely by accident when I spotted one of his images of wolves. I stayed on his photostream for over an hour, and I intend to go back whatever chance I get until I've seen ALL of his images. Tony, I can't believe you gave in to your photography urges just a few short months ago. You have natural pure talent and an eye for what is 'right' and it's obvious in every shot here. You images are just a joy to look at. I know we would all give up our day jobs in a heartbeat to be able to pursue photography full time, but you really SHOULD! You produce photographs which are far and away better than some of the so called professionals who've been doing it for years. You're gifted. Use it. And to everyone else, well do yourself a favour....get a drink, turn off the phone, settle down and take a wander through Tony's images here. You'll love it...I guarantee it.
