I class myself as a keen amateur .... I have had an SLR Camera since I was about 15 years old. My first SLR being a Zenith. Very heavy but it was reliable. I eventually moved on to a Yashica then a Canon.

I had fought against the change to digital as to me at the time it was wrong !

Eventually I succumbed to the changed and bought a DSLR Canon 350d as I could use the same lenses from my SLR and have never looked back since.

I progressed to the Nikon D90 in 2008 and August 2011 took the giant leap into the world of the Nikon D3s and I love it. April 2012 saved enough pennies for my Nikkor 70-200 FX lens . Makes the whole set up quite heavy but just need to get used to it . Will probably end up with an arm like Popeye !

As a carry around camera when I "was" at work etc.... Just in case I see anything of interest I also now have a Nikon S9900, it's a good little camera.

I love to photograph animals mainly action but animal portrait is my fallback. But in all honesty I will photograph any creature if I think it interesting enough.

I love the weather ,and, although some people find it easy , my challenge to myself is a good lightning shot.

I am now 'retired' and enjoying life in Cadgwith, Cornwall with my newfoundlands . I am also a volunteer member of the RNLI and hold the position of Deputy Launching Authority (DLA) at The Lizard Lifeboat Station, Cornwall.

After a disaster with my Nikon D3s which fried the internal computer I have now moved on to the Nikon D4s..... But I still have my D90 as back up !
