Trucker by trade, professional tourist by avocation. I've been an amateur photographer since high school (back in the stone age) when I learned how to use a 4x5 Speed Graflex large format camera and develop my own black and white film, prints and enlargements.

Shot with a 35 mm Pentax K1000 for years, finally made the transition to digital a little over a year ago (2010) with a cheapie Canon A590IS. I stubbornly stuck to film for years, figured I was some kind of purist. Now I wonder what took me so long to come around. Not only does digital seemingly equal photo quality, but digital "film" is virtually free, and there's no wait for messy chemical processing. Now I'm a believer, longingly looking at the ads for those big fat DSLRs and waiting for the day when I can afford one.

My favorite shots are mountain landscapes, and I have plenty of opportunities in my profession as an interstate truck driver. I also love to take photos of police cars, especially state police and highway patrol. I'm also always on the lookout for unusual and humorous signs and billboards.

More recently I have rediscovered my love for astronomy, and I'm trying my hand at some budget restrained astrophotography.
