Self-proclaimed Renaissance man (art, music, photography, web development, project management), but admittedly not a handyman.

Photography hobbyist...I've been playing with Photoshop since version 3, and I sometimes love to splash around in the filters and try new things, but usually I am just trying to improve my photos. I particularly like the Nik Software plug-ins like Viveza (which is brilliant, by the way). I prefer to be selective of what I put on here; sometimes I post my more creative concoctions and sometimes I post photos of vacations and events, when it's more important to get them out there for sharing than to get them perfect. Not one for taking self-portraits, but I do have a few here for reference.

You may notice that I love textured surfaces and find them to be as interesting as any abstract painting. I probably highlight the structure and tonal contrast too much for most peoples' tastes, maybe even over-sharpen, but those are symptoms of my obsession with the smallest details...even as a child, I thought the micro was more interesting than the macro, and I used to seek out the tiniest plants in the woods and build miniature terrariums. Hopefully there are some like-minded individuals out there who love these images as much as I do.

Yes, I do play guitar and sing Italian pop songs (not opera...I'm not Andrea Bocelli...more like Nek, Fiorella Mannoia, Daniele Groff, Luca Dirisio, Marco Masini, Gigi D'Alessio, Sergio Cammariere, etc.).
