Born in Montreal in 1972, Taru began drawing before learning to speak. He remembers how, as a kid, his grandmother always kept a pile of blank paper and color pens at his disposal. He has worked as an illustrator and scriptwriter of comic book for over fifteen years. Following the birth of his first child, he made a short foray into the designing and manufacturing of wooden toys. He now entirely devotes himself to illustration.

Né à Montréal en 1972, Taru a commencé à dessiner avant d'apprendre à parler. Il se souvient que, petit, sa grand-mère gardait toujours à sa disposition une pile de feuilles blanches et des crayons de couleur. Il a œuvré pendant plus de quinze ans comme dessinateur et scénariste de bande dessinée et, suite à la naissance de son premier enfant, a fait une brève incursion dans la conception et la fabrication de jouets en bois. Il se consacre maintenant entièrement à l'illustration.
