brand new.
i have only owned/used a camera within this last year. at first it was only a point and shoot (coolpix) but then a friend was generous enough to give me a canon rebel. i have no formal training but have been enjoying exploring and experimenting with both of these. and NEVER, EVER in a million years did i think i would enjoy taking pictures.
as a child, my grandmother never went anywhere without her camera, snap, snap, snapping away. she did not have any training herself but loved taking pictures of the family. me being part of the family had a totally different viewpoint on that . i would try to make myself as sparse as possible when she was around, which was constantly. hiding, ducking, refusing even bribery, to pose knowingly or not for a picture. i would cringe even at the sight of a camera. i did not know how much i would appreciate her love of that camera until much later in life. i can look back now at times gone by, friends, family and events that were forever lost in my mind until her pictures refreshed my memories.
even still, it took until this last year and owning my own camera to appreciate her love of being behind the lens. now im the one snap, snap, snapping away and boy was i wrong because i'm loving every minute of it !!!!
