Photography, for me, is a way of letting my mind drift beyond the limitations of mundane life. In an inexplicable way, looking through the viewfinder of my camera makes me more curious and keen about my surroundings, as if that small piece of glass gives me the power to find the tiniest streaks of colors in the shadows, to admire the contentment behind someone’s scarcity, or to see the hidden smile behind someone’s nonchalant expression. While my hands adjust the aperture of the lens, my eyes sift through the expressions around me to find the best picture to draw, the best story to tell.

Photography provides me with an apt medium for the vivid representations of what I see and how I interpret the world around me. It gives me a limitless canvas and a palette full of the most natural colors; in its unique ways, it makes me my own Picasso.
