My uncle bought me a $1 camera in about '47. I went from there to folding 120 Montgomery-Ward cameras. In 1960 I had more money than good sense in Anchorage, Alaska and bought a Hasselblad 500C. Four Hasselblad lenses later I started digital and went through three Olympus camera. Then I stepped up to a Nikon D-700 and lenses to take me from 14mm wide angle and 16mm fisheye through 80-200mm telephoto and a 2X teleconverter. I also can hang the camera benind a 1,000mm Celestron astronomical telescope. I am interested in all kinds of photography. I have HDR and spherical panorama software plus PhotoShop CS4, Lightroom, Topaz Suite, Lucis Art Pro, DxO, etc. I design integrated circuits for a living. After 50 years in industrial electronics I am quite sure that I would have been happier in photography ... but I wouldn't have been able to make a nickel.

I design mixed signal integrated circuits and have been operating as a "doing business as" since 1985. I have cranked out about 100 integrated circuits over the years. Mostly DoD oriented but some commercial also. I have chips on Mars, on the way to Jupiter and in orbit on several vehicles including the space station.
