I love coming to Hartmut's photostream. His versatility as a photographer is something I look forward to. Never was I disappointed whenever I visit his photos. His macros and nature shots are most special and greatly done with passion. The details in his photographs are incredible and well studied. This I think separates a great photographer from a good one. Hartmut is also a wonderful friend who is always supportive and thoughtful. I am so honored to be called your friend. Mein lieber Hartmut, mir scheint Hildesheim ist ein Ort, der besonders kreative Menschen hervorbringt, die dem Virus der Fotografie verfallen sind. Ich will einmal zwei Fotografen aus Hildesheim nennen, deren fotografischen Werke ich in der Flickr-Gemeinde sehr bewundere: „littlenely und du als tadelloeser/Hartmut Schmidt“. Daher ist es für mich keine Pflicht, sondern eine große Freude, möglichst täglich einmal auf euren Flickr-Seiten nach neuen Fotos Ausschau zu halten. Die meisten anderen Fotografen werden vielleicht bei der Betrachtung deiner Fotos sagen: Das hätte ich gerne gemacht. Die Komposition stimmt, das Motiv ist interessant und die Präsentation kommt beim Betrachter an. Stimmt, auch ich sage das. Aber was noch viel wichtiger ist, deine Bilder erzeugen Emotionen und bleiben im Gedächtnis – und ich behaupte einmal, fast jeder aus der Flickr-Gemeinde hätte gerne ein paar deiner Fotos in seinem Portfolio.
