One of the most intriguing aspects of life to me is the potentionality of particularized responding on many different sensory input. In addition to it human life - to be exact - humans are in a position to unwind their own mysteries and to put it simply "...to win this world at cards and let it slip their hands..."
Flickr and its hardly comprehensible and understandable assemblage of photographs taken by people from all over the world made it plain to me that this beautiful planet once for all is worth while keeping...
we are not justified to let it slip our hands.
As for photography...it's comparable to reading books - on one hand there're those you might ask what these books are good for, what could be the sense in them, the story, the message...and on the other hand there're books you even can't put down, stories that catch you, that move you to tears and soften the heart, books that convey emotions going for the jugular...
In 1962 I started with a Voigtländer Vito C; I hardly had the money for b/w roll film so I largely restricted myself to kinda 'dry training' and 'grey' theory before shooting b/w photos...
It was In the mid-70s I bought my first SLR camera, a Pentax ME over time equipped with several macro, zoom, and tele lenses including a Soligor 400 mm f/5.6 and a double converter...ten thousands of colour slides as well as numerous b/w photographs gathered between 1962 and 1980 have gone astray during frequently change of domicile.
From the early 90s until the end of 2003 I used a Canon T60 for shooting slides...almost exclusively, more than 2500 slides which I finished digitalising recently using a Nikon Coolscan IV.
By end of 2003 I bought my first digital point-and-shoot camera, an Olympus C5060WZ...a small, dependable, and versatile tool which fully answered my expectations at that time...
but how life goes...one tends to scale up one's expectations and so - after a small and less positive intermezzo with a Canon EOS 450D - I ended up with the Canon EOS 60D which seems to cover sufficient capabilities and satisfactory characteristic...for the moment :)
I'm dreaming of full-frame Canon EOS 5D Mark II and some exorbitantly expensive Canon L-series lenses...let's see what future is going to send forth ;)

I would like to give a testimonial to Tachherrdokter for two reasons. Firstly, for his beautifully observed and executed photos, always a welcome sight in my contacts page. Secondly for his thoughtful and insightful comments. How refreshing and pleasing to have someone take the time and trouble to really evaluate one's images. Thank you, Manfred; I am glad to know you.

Read lessAlways friendly guy, who gives very nice and helpful comments! He also has some of the best pics here on flickr (my mind) so go on with your great work!!
Manfred is simply the kindest guy I've met on Flickr. Anyone who is lucky enough to get in touch with him will agree, I think. And he has great photos too. His "Blade Runner" shot is one of my favourites.

Picture comments of above really say it all. I will say something different - I have found this flickr member to be approachable & not just about photos - i like to send a casual flickr mail to him once in awhile just because. This is the first person i have ever met online that i would visit when i go to Germany. Thanks for all your support & I hope you had a great OcktoberFest my friend.

I have been on Flickr for a while but this is the first time I write a testimony for anyone. Almost all my photos were visited by Manfred. His comments are pleasure to read. He makes you feel appreciated and proud of your photo. His comments are unique and you can sense a feeling of an artist in what he writes. His photos in his stream are also unique and they all tell a story, not like any other picture. He was critical about one or two of my photos and I was happy that someone was honest to point out something that need to be improved, not like telling someone “awesome shot” when it is not worth posting. I rather see one comment from Manfred than getting 50 rubber stamp awards without saying a word. I appreciate all your kind and sincere comments my friend, which will for sure push me to post the best of my photos on Flickr. All the best to you my friend.
Read lessI would like to say that Tachherrdokter writes about the photos of his contacts like no other person I know. I am the recipient of his many helpful and encouraging comments. And his own photos are intriguing and colorful and enlightening, too.
This is the first testimonial I write for anyone on flickr. I recently came across Tachherrdokter and immediately found him a very warm, sincere person. This is the first testimonial I write for anyone on flickr. I recently came across Tachherrdokter and immediately found him a very warm, sincere person. I like his self-introduction in his profile and share his feelings about life, earth, time etc. I also like all the comments Tachherrdokter gave to my pictures, again, they are warm, sincere, and i derive a lot of joy from them. I also like to observe Tachherrdokter's photos, his attention to the details of life is a testimonial of how much he enjoys life, every moment and details of it. Keep on, Tachherrdokter.
