I am 38, living in eastern Norway with my husband and two fur-babies, two dogs.

 

I have one beautiful angel son, Henning, who was stillborn in december 2010. He lives with us in our hearts.

 

I love sewing and quilting, and have been quilting for about 15 years. I also crochet a lot, and love to combine my two hobbies with some creative edges or crochet embellishments.

Crafts work very much as therapy for me. I'm sure I would go nuts without my sewing machine, fabrics, needles and yarn.

 

Totally fabric addicted, I love modern fabrics and brights.

I love vintage buttons and also like to add some "bling" to my projects with buttons or vintage jewellery.

Love to upcycle fabric, specifically stuff from the 1970's. The colours and design are amazing.

 

I make a lot of bags, pouches and other small projects, but also love a big quilt now and then.

As stated above, I love modern but do not usually buy specific fabric lines. I like:

 

-Michael Miller fabrics! Adore them.

-Fruits on fabric, apples, pears and cherries.

-Animals, owls, hedgehogs and other creatures from the woods.

-Japanese fabrics! Love them all.

-Mushrooms.

-Brights!

-Riley Blake designs! Love the cuteness:-)

-Linen.

-Red and white combinations, polkadots.

 

Designers I love: Heather ross, Joel Dewberry, Anna Maria Horner, Denyse Schmidt, Amy Butler, American Jane, Lori Holt, Susuko Kozeki, Pam Kitty Morning, Happy Zombie/Monica Solorio-Snow...

 

I need more basic fabrics/solids, don't have a lot of that.

 

I also have some colors I need more of:

-Gray

-Blue

-Purple

-Teal

-Yellow

-Anything low volume/text

 

When it comes to quilts, quilting and sewing I really like:

-Rounded shapes (for bags, pouches etc)

-Traditional piecing in modern fabrics.

-Wonky stars (and all other stars)

-Paper/foundation piecing

-Simple shapes, like squares, rectangles, flying geese, four patches or nine patches, half square triangles, pinwheels.

 

What I don't care about:

-Black and white only combinations.

-Dark "muddy" fabrics

-Novelty fabrics (old fashion/realistic ones)

-Busy floral fabric

-Neon colours.

-Themed fabrics (cartoons, Hello Kitty, John Deere, etc).

 

I absolutely adore precuts, especially charm packs and mini charm packs. I feel the most creative when I work with fabric scraps, so if you are in a swap with me and consider sending extra goodies, I always LOVE to recieve scraps.

 

Other than this, I love yarn (wool) almost as much as fabric, ric rac, pom pom's and pretty much everything vintage that can be used in a sewing project. I collect and have 1000's of vintage buttons, but I can't ever have enough of them. I love thrifting, looking for nice things for my kitchen or crafts.

I adore washi tape and love all kind of nifty sewing notions.

My favorite color is green, and my favorite color combo is lime green and red. I also looove red and white/cream only quilts and other sewing projects.

 

I am totally addicted to coffee, but I love a good cup of tea as well.
