About Me

I am a 40 year old stay at home mom. I have 3 daughters (all school aged), 2 dogs, 2 cats and my oldest daughter has a California King snake YIKES! We live in what is known as the High Desert of California in Southern California. Anyway, I've been married for 20+ years to a truly wonderful man. I attend a wonderful church and women's bible study. I am attending a local Jr. College working on an AA. I've completed 3 levels of American Sign Language and I just completed an Interpreting level 1 class.

THINGS I LIKE:

I love taking pictures but don’t have an awesome camera as of yet. I do the best with what I do have. I love scented candles but not floral scents. My favorites are pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla, carmel apple and others with that type of theme. My favorite colors are pink, pink and pink. I think I would love anything if it was pink and had a bow on it. I also like spring green, purple and jewel tones. I love ribbons, buttons, lace and fabric. I have a scrapbook paper fetish. I collect antique mason jars, gingerbread people (without a Christmas theme), and antique kitchen things from the 1940’s. I love the green they used for kitchen things in that time period. I have collected Winnie the Pooh for over 30 years but refuse to buy anything now unless it’s vintage. I love baskets and baskets full of fun stuff. A basket full of just about anything gets me jazzed. I collect antique clothes pins and actually enjoy hanging my wash on a line. I love fuzzy slippers, purses, Gerber daisies (especially pink ones!), sunflowers and hearts. Spring and autumn are my favorite seasons. I love coffee, especially flavored whole bean types. I drink my coffee black for the most part. Starbucks is wonderful and I will have a latte every now and then. Popcorn is my favorite snack and chocolate plays a close second. My favorite candy bar is Hershey's Symphony with toffee chips Yummy!!

NOW FOR THE DISLIKES:

I really do not like things that have a floral or perfume scent. Nor do I care for incense. I get headaches and nauseous from the smells. I would never pick something blue if I had other choices. I'm not into Sanrio or Kawaii either. I don't care for a lot of cartoonish type stuff especially don't like Japanese animation. I don't take a lot of baths, so bath salts and bubbles would not be useful to me. However shower gels, and the like are fine as long as they are not floral. I don't care for coffee mixes or creamers. I don't care for items pertaining to Halloween. Please nothing with a pagan theme either.

Favorite Music

I love all types of music but I really don't like heavy metal or acid rock or rap. I like classical, country, pop, really like 80's, and worship music. I also have several CD's from my vacations such as Yosemite, Sequoia, and Zion National Theme Park Series'. These are wonderful for listening and relaxing to. Currently my favorite artists are: Rob Thomas, Matchbox 20, Kenny Rogers, Train, Third Day, Cher, and Louis Armstrong.

Favorite Movies

My all time favorite movie is Officer and a Gentleman. Some more favorites are: How to Loose a Guy in 10 days, Raising Helen, Facing the Giants, The Notebook, Where the Heart Is, Hitch, 50 First Dates, My Best Friends Wedding, Pretty Woman, Fried Green Tomatoes, Step mom, Shall We Dance, Save the Last Dance, 10 Things I Hate About You, Overboard, most of the 80's Brat pack movies, all the Indiana Jones movies, and all the Rocky movies. Basically I really love romantic comedies with some other great flicks mixed in there too. I love just about anything with Goldie Hawn. I also love old movies. Especially Jerry Lewis, Bob hope and Jimmy Stewart.

I don't like horror movies of any type. Let's put it this way, "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchc o c k scared the living daylights out of me!!!

Favorite Television

We don't have cable or satellite TV, so the only shows we watch are ones we rent from Netflix. I do however own all of the MASH, and Friends episodes. We're working on getting all of the Seinfeld’s, Mary Tyler Moore and Walton’s. I like CSI (Miami, and Las Vegas),All the Law and Orders. I love watching shows from my childhood. I Love Lucy is my all time favorite and I've probably memorized every single one of them.

Favorite Crafts

I scrapbook, make cards, cross stitch, and bake. I'm constantly surfing the internet looking for new ideas! I love learning new crafts and techniques for doing things. I love making mini albums and have really gotten into making homemade cards. I purchased a Knifty Knitter and have been having a great time making scarves as Christmas gifts! So you will find me in the yarn section of the craft store a lot more often now!
