Classical music is very much alive, and Sympho exists to reintroduce it to listeners in thoughtful and innovative ways.

We are an orchestra (of flexible size) that thrives on engaging audiences by placing classical music in new contexts. Our concerts range from commissioned evening-length compositions in unusual venues to thought-provoking, multisensory performances of pre-existing works from the length and breadth of the classical canon.

Sympho has been performing concerts in New York since our inaugural REWIND concert in 2006, and our secondary base of operations has been the San Francisco Bay Area since 2008, where we have collaborated with ensembles like the New Century Chamber Orchestra and Classical Revolution to perform the concerts we create.

Sympho and Artistic Director Paul Haas are deeply interested in the sonic possibilities of unusually large or idiosyncratic performance spaces, although our concerts have been highly successful in more traditional and intimate venues.
