I am a professional photographer and business consultant with deep roots in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. My passion for photography reflects my ongoing interest in the blend of art and science, engineering and design.
Life for me is about balancing innovation and creativity with practical, workable, scalable and sustainable solutions.
I walk easily between the corporate and creative worlds, firmly believe they are one. When I photograph people, I enjoy putting them at ease in their surroundings and prefer using natural light whenever possible. I observe their moods, take in their thoughts and feelings, build rapport, working quickly to keep their energy high. I enjoy seeing my clients respond to my efforts towards making them look and feel their best.
Gravitating between reality and abstraction comes naturally, and I am drawn equally to the organic soft curves of human form, and graphic, geometric and manufactured design.
My childhood was infused with mythology. Bedtime stories were fanciful tales told by mother Greek mother and grandmother. Both women were painters. I paint with my camera.
Some of my more ethereal work has been inspired by the myth of Sylphs.
Sylphs are volatile, ethereal entities, that move with the speed of lightning.
Mercurial and intense, they love nature, and are responsible for the myths of "angels", the winged protectors of the Garden of Eden, and other life on Earth.
Sylphs are creatures of the air, and their great wings allow them to soar with the eagles. They are related to the Sidhe, winged rulers of dreams.
True to their word, once sworn to protect something, they will defend it to (or even past) their death.
When they enter into relationships with others, they seek a lifelong bond.
Intense and direct, sylphs soar endlessly through the skies, looking for something to attract their interests and allow them to prove their worth.

Sylph's photographs astound me. They are moments of her sight, her passion, her boundless curiosity caught lovingly for others to experience. Spirits of flowers and people alike alight in her inimitable lens. Sylph is also a remarkable person; her warmth and openness to the world inspire me to be more of what she already effortlessly is. I dedicate the word 'nonpareil' to her.

Sylph is one of the best pro photographers I know. She is amazingly creative in all aspects of her work and I am continually in awe of her portrait work. She has more recently shown us her flower macro photos which are this intimate environment from another world. Her medical advocacy work, moves me beyond words. She is compassionate and respectful in her presentation of this delicate material. Sylph is tireless in helping these people with their medical difficulties. Lastly, she is great fun to go on a shooting expedition with, I never know what great images will be uncovered or where we will end up.
