ABOUT ME
I am an amateur photographer living in Scotland; Born in Glasgow in 1956, as a child I wanted to be a famous wildlife photographer, my heroes were Terry Nutkins, Sir David Attenborough, and Jacques-Yves Cousteau, Oh and my Dad, older brother and my late husband.
I worked in Sales for many years before going to college and going into work in care both in the community and in hospital, I also had my own business, with aromatherapy items and candles for a just over a year, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and CFS, in July 2005 after being off ill for over a year, I was medically retired in the June 2007

About the age of 12 I acquired my first camera a box brownie, then worked my way through to a 110, next was Boots equivalent to the Kodak instamatic 126, a Minolta point and shoot, in 1993 inherited my dad’s Zorki 4, my first SLR, and I also bought a second hand Zenith E
In 2001 I came to Argyll, a wonderful place to live, later I shared a flat with a close friend Alan who moved to Scotland from Kent,
In 2003 I got my first digital bridging camera a Finepix S300 it was mainly to take photos of stock items so that I could produce catalogues or should I say for Alan to produce my catalogues, 2005, Alan bought me my first digital SLR a Canon 350D, and a 200mm and 500mm Sigma lenses, tripod and camera bag, and not only did he spoil me before we went on holiday to Menorca we got engaged in a street cafe in the square in Ciutadella
2006 Alan was diagnosed with a tumour on his lung, a year later the cancer had went into Alan’s bones and time was very short, there was nothing they could do, a week later Alan and I married by special licence on the 10th October 2007.
Alan amazed everyone with his strength and sense of humour, before he passed away on the 27th March 2008 he asked me to promise him I would join the camera club, so in September 2008 I joined Cowal Camera Club, I have made some lovely friends, both in the club and also through joining Flickr
At The Camera Club; 2010/11 received 2nd place medal for intermediate section 2012/13 I took the intermediate image trophy and 3rd place intermediate print medal, and have now moved up into the advanced section.
June 2011, I upgraded to a Canon 550D which I love, I still use my 350D more for Close up and macro shots using my 18-55 lens with extension rings
Lenses I use are
Canon 18-55mm IS
Canon 55-250mm
Sigma 70-200mm although not as much since buying the Canon 250mm
Sigma 100-300 with Macro
Sigma 170-500mm
