Her unique view on the world is paired with ever increasing crafts(wo)manship which leads to quite unique masterpieces, often from the most mundane of locations, overlooked by everyone else. Shirley is a class act... She describes herself as "a dreamer with her feet firmly on the ground" and this is probably a better and more accurate description than I could come up with. Her photos represent her in a strangely truthful way - there is no pretence here just an exposed soul. Day 2 of her "month of me" sums her up - this canal often looks decidedly unromantic with the city's detritus littering its murky waters but Shirley speaks silently of picking wild fruit for breakfast and sauntering through the mist. It's deep and raw and vibrant; it's very Shirley!
