I am a Wyoming boy transplanted to Lower Arkansas (LA, "The ArkLaTex") some sixteen years ago as I sought career advancement options that simply did not exist in Cheyenne, my home town.

Howdy, Pardner!

I am a Manufacturing Engineer with 35 years experience.

My new home in Arkansas is is also home to what is now Husqvarna Outdoor Products, formerly Poulan Weedeater. Yes, we make those Weedeaters, blowers, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws you love to hate.

I retired in 2004 and have spent the interim just regaining a perspective on what life is really about. Photography is just a tool to optimize that enjoyment.

Some of my earliest posted photos date as far back as the early 1950s. Check out my sets, 50s Sweet Dreams, 60s Sweet Dreams, 70s and 80s,) These are scans of slides my father took with an old Argus Model C3 35mm rangefinder camera on Kodachrome film. I am fortunate to have rescued them from an impending estate sale after his death and consider them some of the most valuable nuggets of his legacy.

Although he did not, I'm sure, consider himself an artist some of his photos are quite stunning yet it is not uncommon to see a roll of film spanning eighteen months of time.

It is interesting that many of the shots in my "Most Interesting" photo set are his work, not mine.

Most of his photos are of "all the cousins" or baby pictures or other shots that only a parent would love. I do not post those. Rather it is my goal, with these pictures, to share a little slice of Americana from the period This is my tribute to my parents who could never show their slides to more than a roomful of close friends, but, I'm sure would be more than happy to share some of their memories with the world.

Cycle of Democracy -- a reprise because THIS is important!!

I am a Wyoming boy who had to leave the state to make a living in my chosen profession as a Manufacturing Engineer. I've been taking 35mm since the early 70s and just recently got into Digital photography. Now doing consulting work, I am finding that all kinds of things need to be put on film (or pixels). The camera now goes with me everywhere.
