I've ALWAYS had a passion for photography, but even more so since late July, 2009. I reconnected with a longtime childhood friend and he has given me his photography bug!!!!!! I'm not a professional photographer by any means. I just love to experience the world around me through my camera lens!!! Basically, I'm predominantly self taught. I use my cell phone camera, a Kodak EasyShare M853 Zoom, a Canon Powershot SD700 IS, and a Canon Power Shot SX20 IS. In July, 2012, I got my FIRST DSLR, a Canon Rebel t3i! I have my awesome parents to thank for my Canon Rebel! I wouldn't have been able to have it without their help! Thanks for believing in me, Mom and Dad!! I also use film cameras, but I'm not as versed in them as I am digital!! As far as SLR film cameras go, I have 3, all of which I either purchased @ estate sales or local thrift shops, or were given to me by a friend who now shoots solely in digital. I must admit, although I own 3 SLR film cameras, I have yet to use them regularly. Main reason for that is that they, unlike my DSLR, use disposable photo batteries; ones that when you start doing the math involved with getting batteries for 3 SLRs vs. just one SLR, that gets a little expensive for me, especially when a new set of batteries is needed after every time I have attempted to shoot film with those for any length of time longer than about 45 minutes. However, I do plan to eventually do & entire shoot with film only. Therefore, I will definitely be putting those cameras to great use. I welcome ya'll to check out my photos!!! Any feedback you can give me is welcomed & appreciated!!!

The childhood friend I spoke of is also on flickr. Unlike me, he actually studied photography in college and has a degree in the photojournalism field. I even have two photos posted on my photostream that he shot with MY camera!!! So, if you like the photography you just saw on my photostream, but you want to see something from someone with a trained eye, please consider checking out my friend's photostream as well.

I also have another childhood friend here on flickr. Actually, she and her husband both are. She is also more trained in photography than I am. In fact, she has her own photography business. If you click on her photostream, it will link you to her website. If you get a chance, check it out. She is quite the photographer!!!
