I've worked for the last 20+ years as a designer in one form or another and currently work in footwear/apparel design.

As a photographer, my story is very similar to so many others. I was given a Pentax K1000 when I was in high school and loved it. I dreamed and drooled over the Nikon F3HP and thoughts of becoming a photojournalist were always in the back of my mind. I decided instead to pursue advertising design and over the years lost both my 20/20 eyesight and my interest in photography.

In the late '90s I was fortunate enough to have a design/art director position with a manufacturer where I ran large-scale photoshoots. When I went freelance in 2001, I bought an Olympus 2500L to help out with design and illustration work and to expand my business doing light product photography. I eventually invested in the first generation Canon Digital Rebel and my love for photography was rekindled.

My photography roots are still firmly bound to my photojournalistic leanings and I think my style reflects that. I still do product and studio photography for work (over the last year I have taught myself how to use studio lighting, how to better work with models, etc.) but I'm far more passionate about documenting life as I find it. I enjoy the act of discovery and documentation. I find in it opportunities to tell a story, to illustrate and reveal; and I love that.
