I'm an active outdoor enthusiast who sees the world in color, contrast, lines, hues and texture and whose aim is to capture these images and share them with the world.

I go where others may not so they too may 'see'...

At the moment my images are somewhat un-retouched as I don't have anything other than the computer photo program to manipulate my images. I had Lightroom and lost the pirated copy on a laptop that died, Photoshop CS3 sits in the box yet as I'm mortified by it.... will do Lightroom again soon, I want the deep color & resolutions that others here do so well with, (like Happyhiker4!) so think not less of me for my rather 'bland' colors, I 'see' them - I just can't get there yet...

My favorite Hoodoos by Susee Sunshine: Pure Wonder...

Here's what 'motivates' me:

Light

From the blackness

Bleeds the blue

White threads

Reach up, twist and weave

Spin and thicken

Becoming clouds

The sun

In its wayward walk across the heavens

Enhances the gossamer cloth

Adding its hues

Of red, vibrant orange, pink, yellow, blue

Making them soft, gentle

Or raging and angry

The stage is set

As the light show performs its magic

And woes us mere mortals

As we observe and wonder

With eyes up

And feet grounded to the earth

Mountains, majestic and languid

Partner with the spectacle

Adding their resplendence

To the expansive display

Enslaving and directing

The unruly contingency

As they dance and dart

Amid their peaks

And I, with camera in hand

Capture the ever-changing masterpiece

Hoping its representation

Is pleasing to these Gods

Of which I am not worthy

And yet chosen

I am powerless to do anything

But worship them.
