EDUCATION…
Susan received her Associate of Art degree in 1983 from Miami Community College, Miami Florida, USA. The same year saw her opening her first photography Studio and Lab in Jeddah, equipped with the latest state –of-art digital machines for that special professional touch. Susan also shares her expertise by teaching, conducting private lessons for ladies and children in all areas of photography.

Participated in “ Jeddah the Beautiful” Competition, Winning 2 distinguished awards, 1993
Susan earned 2nd Place in the United Nation’s Photo Competition, earning the UND plaque, certificate, Medal of Honor and cash prize from the late H.R.H. Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Abdulaziz, 1993.
Susan’s photo won for the the “Sense of Humanity” category in Swiss Competition, 1994.
Won the prince Fahd Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Environmental Protection award, 1995.
Awarded a certificate from the art & Culture Institute, Saudi Arabia, for answering the late King Fahd’s call for humanitarian service during the Bosnian War, the Exhibition benefiting those affected by the conflict, 1995.
Won an award in Scandinavia for Humanitarian Photography, 1996.
Susan earned the Abha Award for Culture & Art from H.R.H. Khalid Al-Faisal Bin Abdul Aziz, the Prince of Asir, 1997
Prize awarded fort he Municipality of Jeddah Competition for Professional Photography. Susan’s son Malik Muhammad Baarmah also won in the same category, 1997.
Awarded cash prize with a vacation package with her family, sponsored by Al-Rashid Center in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Her children Juhaina & Sari participated with son Malik winning, 1997.

A CAREER OF DISTINCTION
Garnering 23 awards since 1985, Susan’s images have received much international acclaim, ranging from United Nations Competitions to accolades from worldwide exhibition. Moreover, her works have been sold at numerous auctions, for both charity and commercial purposes.
Susan’s photograph, spanning a career of over 25 years, are consigned by galleries, business people, royal and art collector, the Cubic Gallery in Canada and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, England. The 1st Collective Photographer’s Exhibition, Fine Arts Center, Jeddah. During this exhibition, Susan’s photograph, priced at SR. 1,000, was purchased by an art collector for SR. 7,000.
2006 marked the 1st year that photographers were allowed to document the hajj, the city of Makkah and the Holy Mosque with aerial photos taken from a Saudi Arabian Army helicopter, a first for a woman.
. She was the only aerial photographer to witness the hajj stampede and documented the tragic accident as it unfold .
Russian television did a documentary film about Susan Baaghil in the year 2005, as an example of a professional Saudi woman with a winner of International prizes.
Susan Baaghil was invited by the Governor of Farasan Region to take picture in the island of Farasan in fishing competition and she was the only lady in the island to cover the event.
Susan document the Camel beauty festival Sponsored by prince Mishal Bin Abdul Aziz in a dessert Omrugheba Hafr Albatn She was the only woman in the event invited By the Prince to photograph to make camel exhibition in Riyadh Dhahran and Jeddah 2006.
Telesaurus, the National Belgian television did a documentary film of Susan Baaghil to give Belgian people as an example of a professional Muslim woman in Saudi Arabia who won international prizes and in an humanity photography.
Italian television TG1 interviewed her.

This honor marked the first time that a foreigner was honored by the Italian government, or any foreign government.
She was the first Saudi woman to photograph 19th Arab Summit in Riyadh March 2007. Susan Baaghil was also invited in the Royal Dinner for the honorification of all Arab Leaders that was held at the Center of King Abdulaziz International for the summit.
Susan was one of the judges in the First Photography Competition of the Western region of Saudi Arabia.
