Shutter speed guide (for dummies and myself)

1/500 - freezes anything.

1/30 - makes moving water look about natural

1 - good enough to smooth water fall

 

Panning

1/8 - 1/60 - range for panning use (usually 1/30 is enough)

 

Slow Sync

1/30 - if usnig slow sync flash, use slow shutter speed for background
