Hi!
One of the things I love about flickr is that it gives me the opportunity to see fantastic photos from all over the world. I love the sharing and the connections it facilitates. Thank you so much for looking at my photos!
I love chocolate (and other food too!), the outdoors, flowers, horses, dogs, reading (I am so SAD Harry Potter is over), and, of course, photography (more interests below.) I live with my husband in Southern Arizona with our dog, Sunshine.
Taking an idea from Odie's mom, I would like to give some background on Sunshine. We adopted her from Arizona Poodle Rescue August 2006. The rescue found her alone in an abandoned trailer on an Indian reservation about 6 months before we adopted her. She was starving and only 20 lbs. She now weighs 42 lbs. We think she was born in about 2000 and is a standard poodle/schnauzer mix (otherwise called a Schnoodle), although, she could be a different type of terrier. I would love to hear suggestions of what breeds you think she might be! She is missing all of the front bottom incisors and one of her canines is broken off (maybe because she tried to eat something inedible in the trailer she was left in?)
Sunshine is still shy with anyone but my husband and I and the foster-mom that had her before us. With the help of a few books and watching Cesar Milan, we hope to make her a relaxed and happy member of our pack. The more people we meet and the more walks and hikes we go on, the more she is coming out of her shell and seems to like being out of the house (even under the big open sky!) Although, I think the car and the bed are still her favorite places to be and around our neighborhood, she prefers walks when it is dark. When she gets excited, she rarely will run, but she will jump straight up, and her ears go flying.
She is definitely getting more comfortable being outside, especially around the neighborhood. She isn't so intent to get back to the house, and she is eager and willing at the start. And, if we haven't been out , she will beg us with her adorable eyes to go out somewhere. She gets so excited now. In the car, she will look out of the window, instead of just ignoring that there are things outside.
Thanks for reading more about Sunshine! I hope to hear from you.
