Began with my Dad's Rolieflex and mucking around in a darkroom in the basement. I LOVED B&W printing.
Now, Nikon D700, N65 when I still want to invest in film. D50 went to my niece! My first digital camera was a little Nikon Coolpix back about 10 years. And I still have my Dad's Rollieflex. It needs a bit of work to be useable again.
I want to thank all the talented folks on Flickr who have been kind enough to offer advice and constructive criticism. If I've added you as a contact, it's most likely because I see something really special in your work and hope to learn from each of you.
Just by observing your work, I learn more about perspective, composition, and everything that makes a photo a work of art. Thank you to the "masters" on here for sticking around to enlighten us beginners. I have learned a lot since I started.
I am a professional non-profit fundraiser (yes, it is difficult--but I love it). I was raised by musicians. Music is an essential part of my life (raised on jazz, big band, and classical...sorry Mom, I still don't like opera).
I am outdoors any chance I get. But I also hike and camp when I can. I've done hunter/jumper (horses, for those of you who don't know), was an EMT for 12 years, learning wilderness survival (but don't ask me to skin a rabbit), love organic gardening, and spend as much time as I can with friends and family.
