*Monday through Saturday, SuMMit CrossFit holds group classes that are led by our experienced certified CrossFit trainers who program a workout everyday in advance…so you don’t have to. We start off by taking the group though a thorough total body warm-up. This is followed by an explanation and demonstration of the skills asked to be performed in the upcoming “WOD” (workout of the day). The trainer will make sure the entire class is comfortable with all of the skills asked to be performed that day before moving onto the WOD. Once the group is confident in the exercises, the WOD will begin with 3, 2, 1…GO! The WOD’s typically last between 10-40 minutes and consist of constantly varried functional movements performed at a high intensity with the assistance of our coaches. All workouts are scaled to individual fitness levels. This allows for anyone to complete the WOD regardless of age, weight, or fitness level. You can chart your progress easily because the WOD is generally scored by time in your own WOD book that will be given to you after your completion of the “Elements Course”.
*Below are some of the exercises you will be asked to perform (keep in mind that everything can be modified)
Weight lifting- squat, press, jerk, dead lifts, Olympic lifts, cleans, snatches, kettlebells, dumbells, medicine balls, tire flips, or anything else that involves moving weight.
Gymnastics-pull ups, air squats, push ups, sit ups, dips, box jumps, rope climbs, muscle ups, or any other body weight movement you can think of.
Cardiovascular Training-running, rowing, jump roping…
These different movements are put together to make up short intense workouts which is what makes CrossFit so effective. CrossFit is known for its efficient use of time. If you are going to the gym, why not get the results in the shortest amount of time possible? Here at SuMMit CrossFit, we make that happen by incorporating different exercises together so you get your strength and cardio fix in the same day. You will find that this method of training is the best. Unlike most gyms or personal trainers, we provide complete instruction and motivation through the entire workout. Technique and form are of utmost importance to us both to avoid injury as well as to teach you the way to gain the most power and efficiency from each movement. The moment a person joins our ranks his/her success is of utmost importance to us and that is very evident. Every athlete (all our members are athletes) workout is tracked and logged so that progress can be carefully measured. Our athletes like that we expect a certain amount of commitment to our program. There are certainly cheaper places to work out where you can go jog on a treadmill while watching TV. We don′t compete on price. We strive to be the best in our field and want members who also want to be the best in theirs.
