I am 70 years YOUNG and have been absorbed with Photography for the past twenty years. Lived in Taos from 1991 to 2001 and returned to the Austin, Texas area in 2001. While in Taos, I was represented in five galleries in New Mexico, Montana, and Mexico. The majority of my work has been influenced by New Mexico and Mexico. I have been active in taking other Photographers and Painters to Central Mexico, particularly San Miguel D'Allende. I sell my work, but am not aggressive about it. I am also skilled in matting and framing.

One of my greatest sources of happiness has been looking at the beauty in this world through a lens.My favorite photography is using a close-up lens and choosing shallow depth of field, thereby creating a "photo-painting". Few people take the time to notice how much beauty there is in "parts of the whole", and few people take enough time to "stop and observe".

My choice to do Color Photography developed from the influence of Graphic Arts. I worked for five years as a Graphic Artist , creating exhibits for Oil and Gas Courtroom Trials in the Eighties. During those years, I learned that the value of color in our lives is not only demonstrated in the effectivness of advertising, but in the happiness that color can bring to one's lives. I have been acutely aware of the use of color to brighten the spirit, particularly in poverty-ravaged towns, cities and villages. This is seen dramatically in areas such as Mexico, Guatemala, and so many areas of Africa and South America, all of which I have visited.

My fervent wish for my viewers is to convey the premise that we are surrounded by beauty, and that even the simplest of things( such as one brightly colored window with lace curtains, or the charm of an old door with rustic character) can bring much joy into our life if we will only take the time to slow down and notice it !
