LIFE IS A JOURNEY WITH A CAMERA...
I'm a keen enthusiast photographer.
In September 2011 I was officially awarded my Photographic Honours AFIAP and AAPS.
In order to continue improving my photography, I undertake short courses and day workshops.
As I love to be challenged photographically, I became a member of the APS (Australian Photographic Society) in January 2010 so that I could work towards gaining my AFIAP and AAPS Photographic Letters.
These are two completely different bodies, one National and one International.
In order to attain these letters you have to enter and achieve acceptances and awards Nationally and Internationally, competing with the world's best photographers.
It has been a fantastic goal and very rewarding and I have surprised myself with various awards throughout the year.
My goal was to achieve this in only one year so it was full-on!
In September 2011 I was "officially" awarded my Honours.
To attain the AAPS Honours you need to be a Member of the APS (Australian Photographic Society) and enter National and International Photo Salons. www.a-p-s.org.au/ Points are accumulated for any photo Acceptances and Awards are given for anything higher than an Acceptance, such as Best of Show, First, Second, Third Place, Honourable Mentions, Merits, etc.
The Society rewards its members who achieve excellence in photography. Members achieve different levels because of their motivation, exemplary service, desire to reach a goal, improve self esteem, recognition of their skill, artistry and ability. Recognition to APS members is given for skill in the form the Honours category that is being applied for, in my case, Associate (AAPS).
The second lot of Honours I aimed for is through the FIAP. The Photographic letters attained here are the AFIAP or Artist FIAP (International Federation of Photographic Art). The FIAP website is: www.fiap.net/index-en.php.
Thanks for visiting my stream and I hope you have enjoyed viewing it.
