Danny's one of the first photographers i started following when i joined flickr some 3+ years ago. He obviously has a natural affinity with people, as he manages to get such wonderfully intimate portraits from his subjects: from silly fun faces one makes with a close friend to serious soul connecting moments of honesty and serenity. And his bizarre, original and entertaining self-portraits are one of a kind. And while everyone on flickr relies on using pretentious quotes, self-promoting anecdotes, and boring essays for their photo descriptions (myself included...), Danny has this uncanny knack of balancing the gravitas and drama of his photos with what i think are the funniest captions/descriptions on flickr. I don't think there's anybody that even comes close. ... and don't tell him, but I'm certain that I've subconsciously stolen a few composition and portrait tricks from him over the years.
