Ever since I was very young I wanted to learn more about photography.When I was about seven years old, my uncle, who is a professional photographer, gave me a roll of photo paper and a "glass sandwich" for exposing negatives I found around the house. This was my first exposure to photography. Eventually, I moved on to other interests and hobbies, the most significant being music production.

In April 2006, I had the opportunity to obtain a digital SLR (Nikon D50 body). Since then, I've been avidly shooting pictures every day and posting to Flickr & Fotolog whenever I get a chance.

I find photography to be a great stress reliever that allows me to get closer to my surroundings. Photography truly is the act of connecting with the reality of being through capturing what can be seen with light. Light as a substance continously intrigues me. I strive to capture the beauty within a subject through what can be seen in the light and I certainly don't always succeed. This is what makes it fun.

My favorite subjects pertain mostly to nature (especially insects) and people, though I'm slowly getting into more experimental shots that explore repetition, DoF and perspective. I also must say that I have a great affection for dragonflies and damselflies.

I'd love to do photography for a living, but for now I'm an Oracle Applications Database Administrator.
