I will be 67 years old in a few months and am retired from my previous occupation, but still own a small permitting service in Tampa, Florida helping my clients obtain construction permits.
I owned a Photography Studio in Tampa for many years and worked with two master photographers for quite a number of years in those early days.
I’ve always loved photography and find I enjoy it even more since I no longer pursue it as a profession. Photography is a challenging and stimulating field of endeavor.
I have become excited to explore photography using the simple iPhone camera in my new iPhone XS. The simplicity of the camera belies the incredible flexability and quality one can achieve with such a tiny camera lens. I have used 4X5 Sinar and 8X10 view cameras - my favorite camera was a medium format Hasselblad 500C along with its 120 film - what a workhorse and the Carl Zeiess lenses were literally out of this world. To compare those lenses with the tiny iPhone camera is amazing.
I am also a model aircraft enthusiast, both radio control and control line. My favorite is and always will be control line precision aerobatics. I enjoy control line precision aerobatics with my older brother and we both still compete in the U.S. Nationals every year. To say this has has been a most rewarding endeavor is to shortchange the sport. The skills one acquires, the people you meet and the knowledge and life lessons you learn will be with me all my remaining days.
I look forward to being more active on Flickr and I most humbly would look forward to interacting with others.
