I am writer on art and curator. "Artists' Studio View" is a series of photo-documentation that I began in 2009. The series aims at documenting the practices of Indian contemporary artists at their studios. The idea is to understand and appreciate art straight from an artist. Eloquent histories and insightful critiques of Indian art have been written, but knowing, seeing and learning directly from the artists is unmatched.

These photographs have been shot by me while the artists were at work. This photo-documenting process is accompanied by in-depth interviews with the artist about their work process, challenges, concerns and concepts. Those interviews will be transcribed soon and uploaded on a blogsite!

Meanwhile the photo documentation will continue presenting the private studios of various artists working across India.
