I always thought he meant not only things that are objectively impossible, but also that it is impossible for you personally to eat these things because of a lack of talent or something. And i think that adds very well to the statement. As Schönberg said: "Kunst kommt nicht von können, sondern vor dem Müssen. Und der Appetit beim Essen."
