Doisneau characterised himself as a "fisherman of images", wandering without a particular purpose along the streets of the city, his baited camera ready for action. I like the idea that things are not controlled, that I can encounter something interesting or ordinary by chance. I tend to think of my street efforts as story telling - with one picture.

 

I always try to remember: "A luminous object need not shine light upon itself"

 

I carry my camera(s) around my neck NOT around my hip. I do use a short neck strap. One of the few advantages of being "short"!

 

Without trying to sound arrogant please - I don't take 'snaps'. I take pictures. So if you refer to an image here or elsewhere as a 'snap' you are doing the shooter a disservice.
