I am retired and living in Jupiter, Florida relishing life in the moment...
I shoot what I see and don't spend a lot of time setting up shots. I own a tripod and a flash but rarely use them. Okay I admit I cannot handhold a true night shot. I think of myself as a "snap shooter"; but do not think of my photographs as snapshots. I like catching the 'moment' and that instant in time does not always allow setups. During my travels I often only have a few hours in a given location or city so being fast with the camera is important. I shoot in RAW and use Lightroom for processing. I do not do anything fancy but I do crop and adjust exposures.
I spend most of my time in Jupiter these days walking in the weeds at our many Natural Areas. I have two Nikon cameras and two lenses. Ninety percent of the time I use the camera with the 100-400mm zoom lens while out walking. With it I can shoot everything from small flowers and bugs to some landscapes and larger wildlife. The other camera has a 24-120mm zoom lens. That is my tourist camera when I travel.
