I recently turned 60 and am a software developer by trade, with photography merely a hobby. I enjoy all sorts of photography but particularly enjoy street photography and candid photography at the local beachfront.
After more than ten years of shooting with Canon DSLR cameras, I switched to a mirrorless system around nine years ago and still use the Fujifilm X-E1 I bought then. Despite it being a first-generation X system camera it still works well for my needs and I haven't seen the need to upgrade to a newer camera, as appealing as they are. I have built up a reasonable set of lenses and have 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 10-24mm and 27mm Fuji=film lenses. With mirrorless cameras being particularly well suited to adapted lenses I have also acquired adapters and two old manual macro lenses. I've had mixed results with them; it clearly needs a lot more time and practice than I have spent to master macro work with an adapted manual lens.
I am a member of Helderberg Photographic Society and have served on their committee for a number of years.
